The Nursery Rooms Policies
We have range of policies specifically designed to help us to provide a high standard of care.
We have listed a few of our main policies and our statement of intent relating to these below. The full nursery policies are available on request.
Behaviour management policy
The Nursery Rooms believes that children flourish best when they know how they are expected to behave and should be free to play and learn without fear of being hurt or unfairly restricted by anyone else. We believe that children should have set boundaries of behaviour which is as much for their own safety and well-being as that of their peers.
Safeguarding policy
Our nursery wants to work with children, parents and the community to ensure the safety of children and to give them the very best start in life. We have a duty of care to all the children that we care for. If any member of staff has grounds to suspect that any child is being abused in any way they are obliged to monitor the situation and inform the nurseries child protection coordinator. Following this the necessary action will be taken and if appropriate these concerns will be raised with the family or the local authority.
Complaints policy
The nursery aims to provide the highest quality of care and education for all children.
We believe that all children and parents are entitled to prompt and careful consideration of their needs and wishes. We give serious attention to any concerns raised and fully welcome suggestions on how to improve the quality of our nursery.
Equality and inclusion
Our nursery is committed to providing equality and anti-discriminatory practice for all children and families. We aim to provide a secure environment in which all our children can flourish and in which all contributions are valued. We provide positive, non-stereotyping information about different ethnic groups and people with disabilities and constantly strive to improve our knowledge and understanding of issues of equality and diversity.
Special educational needs
We provide an environment in which all children are supported to reach their full potential. We have regard for the DFES Special educational needs code of practice. We include all children in our provision. We identify the special needs of children with SEN (Special Educational Needs) and meet those needs through a range of strategies. We also work in partnership with parents and other agencies in meeting those individual needs.
WE OPERATE A STRICT NO SMOKING POLICY AT ALL TIMES.
